David Barber is co-founder of Blue Hill and a founding partner of the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture. The 138-acre Blue Hill Farm in Great Barrington, Massachusetts has been in the Barber family for three generations. Blue Hill is a leader in the movement to promote ecologically cultuvated food.
David began investing in the food space in 2010 as an angel. He founded Almanac in 2018 and later joined as Partner at Astanor, a Brussels based VC firm focused on food and agricultural systems. The firm has creatively tied its carry interest to Impact Report criteria that require investments to perform on ecological and biological metrics.
David currently serves on the Board of Directors for Foxtrot and Luke’s Lobster. He also serves on the board of Stone Barns Center and Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts.
