The team aims to ramp up production capacity to 10 tonnes of cultivated fat each year. This is part of their strategy to achieve cost-parity with plant oils at a commercial scale. The facility also includes a hardware workshop for manufacturing bioreactors designed to enhance fat cell growth.

Financial Backing and Future Plans

Hoxton Farms recently secured £20 million in Series A funding led by Collaborative Fund and Fine Structure Ventures in October 2022. This financial backing is a significant step towards gaining regulatory approval for their cultivated fat as a food ingredient.
