Shake Shack Teams Up with Zero Acre Farms for a Sustainable Frying Experience



Shake Shack, the popular fast-casual restaurant chain, has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Zero Acre Farms to pilot a cleaner, more sustainable frying oil. Starting immediately, two Shake Shack locations in New York City will exclusively use Zero Acre oil for frying, replacing the conventional soybean oil. The pilot program will be conducted at Shake Shack's Hudson Yards and Battery Park City locations in NYC. Menu items that will be fried using Zero Acre oil include fan-favorites such as Crinkle Cut Fries, 'Shroom Burger, Shack Stack, Veggie Shack, Chicken Shack, Chicken Bites, and new limited-time Hot Menu items.

Zero Acre oil is derived from rain-fed sugarcane plants, which are the world's highest-yielding crop. The oil is high in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats and has a high smoke point, making it ideal for frying. It also has a clean, neutral taste that allows the natural flavors of the food to shine.
