IPOs, M&As & Investments:

France-based agtech Agriconomie raised $60.4 million in funding led by Treïs Group, Aliment Capital and Temasek Holdings. The capital will be used to add climate-resistant farming products and support farms to transition to regen practices among other things.

Colombia’s dark kitchen startup Muncher raised a $27 million Series B funding round led by Glisco Partners. The capital will be used to expand its regional operations.

Precision cooking Indian-based On2Cook, a start-up that made an appearance on season 1 of business TV reality show 'Shark Tank', has raised $4,2M in seed funding at a valuation to $25M.

TX-based Proper Good raised $3.5M in Seed funding. The company intends to use the funds to support its growth across e-commerce and retail, followed by its recent expansion into over 2,000 Walmart Supercenter stores and product innovation.

Israel-based biotech start-up, BioRaptor, has announced a $3 million seed funding round to deliver artificial intelligence-generated insights to scientists.

Indonesia’s agriculture commodity trade platform PasarMIKRO has raised $2.5 million in an oversubscribed seed round led by Trihill Capital and Resolution Ventures to boost its user base and expand products and markets.

India-based startup Phyx44 raised $1.2M in a Seed round of funding to develop alt- milk proteins and fats for use in dairy products. Phyx44 will accelerate R&D, expand the team and work on the co-development of product formulation with key partners.

Perfekto bags $1.1 million to redistribute imperfect produce. The Y Combinator graduate currently rescues food from more than 70 producers in Mexico and delivers it to customers

Egypt-based foodtech startup Brotinni, has raised a $600,000 Seed round led by Innlife investments. It plans to use the fresh funds to expand its dark butchery network, expand its logistics team and invest in its technology.

Queensland agtech startup DataFarming has raised $500,000 in a pre-Series A round led by Sydney VC Investible. Monies will be used to accelerate its sales and product development, as it positions toward its $5 million Series A raise and continued global expansion.

Carble raised €300k seed funding for its deforestation-free coffee. It will use the funds to launch the product's first version to market.


 

Funds, Grants & Partnerships:

UC Davis Innovation Institute for Food and Health will partner with Barnstorm Foundry, a food and health startup foundry, to discover new markets for novel food ingredients and products that are nutritious, sustainable, and accessible.

United Natural Foods and Square Roots have made a new agreement to co-locate Square Roots' indoor farms on-site at select UNFI distribution centers.

Biome Makers and Regen Ag Lab have announced that the companies have entered into a strategic partnership that will expand biological soil health analyses in North America.

The Canadian Food Innovation Network (CFIN) invests $533,355 into six projects valued at over $1M through the organization’s Innovation Booster program.

Umami Meats announced a research collaboration with food and nutrition scientists at Waters Corporation to develop laboratory methods for safely cultivating fish free from contamination that can be produced as a sustainable food supply.

Sophie's BioNutrients together with Danish Technological Institute produced its first chlorella-based ice cream, made from Sophie's BioNutrients dairy-free Chlorella Protein Concentrate.

Santa Rosa-based Wine Routes, a travel planning platform geared to help customers find and set up Wine Country itineraries, has partnered with Grabbi, a San Francisco-based wine and food tech firm.


 

News & Trends:


Meal prep company Dineamic has added plant-based bites to its menu, launching a selection of healthy and sustainable ready-made meals, powered by international food tech company, Future Farm.

Saudi Aramco TotalEnergies Refining and Petrochemical Co. has introduced a pioneering process that enables chemical recycling of plastic waste-derived oil as a feedstock to the refinery.
